Deportes Tolima reached the top of the table, partially, thanks to the 1-0 victory over América de Cali this Saturday, at the Manuel Murillo Toro stadium in Ibagué. Despite playing 54 minutes with one man less, due to the expulsion of defender Sergio Mosquera (author of the goal), the louse made Scarlet look bad, impotent in his game.
As has been customary in the Juan Cruz Real era, America began by pressing the rival on their own ground, with the speed and enthusiasm of the youths that they used in their alternate formation, but the posh box was balancing possession of the ball.
However, a more physical than thinking team was seen, the only one who tried to play collectively was Luis Sánchez, because Jhon Arias did not assume his role as a player with more shooting, while Emerson Batalla and Santiago Moreno practically did not weigh in the attack.
In the second half, Juan Cruz Real made variations to improve the offensive game, he succeeded, but again he lacked power to get at least the equalizer. Tolima arrived at 10 minutes on the left, the ball went below the guayo to Marlon Torres, but without a recipient.
At 16, Campaz shot over the top on a ball that Luis Sánchez lost in the middle. A collection from the right side by Jáminton Campaz at 24 gave Tolima the lead, when the ball did not reach to reject Jaramillo and Sergio Mosquera who was behind pushed it for 1-0.
On 32, the 20 finished Albornoz and the ball went to the last line, but they asked for a hand in the area. At 37, Marulanda fired from outside the area and Graterol sent the corner kick. On 39, Sergio Mosquera, who was already cautioned, committed a foul on Batalla that referee Diego Escalante considered bad intention and showed him the red. Upon addition, Carlos Sierra received a short touch on a free throw that was missed over the top.
Rafael Carrascal and Juan David Pérez entered the complement to give a little air to the attack of the scarlet team and seek to apply numerical superiority and the red box took over the ball, although again it lacked depth. Sierra did not manage to finish with direction. And the same later Juan David Pérez. The defender Pablo Ortiz looked for the goal in an acrobatic action, with his back to the goal, but the ball was deflected at 15.
Sierra again took a powerful shot from a free kick and the ball hit the horizontal, in the most risky action for the visitor. At minute 38, Albornoz sped up the left, crossed and Miranda could not reach the ball to hit the goal of Graterol, thus missing the option of the second goal from Tolima.
Arias finished off at 42 and Montero, who was key in Tolima’s goal, deflected the ball again. The local kept the three points without spending more, while America begins to worry, it remains eighth, but this Sunday it could leave the list if any of the rivals that come behind wins.
This week, Tolima will play the postponed game against Nacional in Medellín, on Wednesday, September 30 (8:10 pm); while América receives Rionegro Águilas on Sunday, October 4 at 6:05 pm
