Timochenko tells the JEP that the FARC did not recruit minors or commit violations

However, he emphasized that as a commander he did not have the capacity to control what was happening inside each front and added that they only sought to defend peasant families.

Another former FARC commander who said he did not know of cases of recruitment or sexual violence against minors was Pastor Alape, former head of the Magdalena Medio bloc.

“I have no knowledge of those situations in particular because it was not part of the organization’s policy. Therefore, I have no records of such procedures, “he said in a statement released by Blu Radio.

For his part, Martín Vega, known as Rubín Morro, accepted that there were minors in the FARC.

“With deep sadness, I allow myself to express to the Colombian people that we were wrong and that the entry of minors into the guerrilla ranks was a political error that we regret today and for which we apologize to the victims,” ​​he said according to a statement issued after his version before the JEP.

So far, the JEP has linked 37 former FARC guerrillas in these events.
