In a letter dated November 2, the head of the Farc party, Rodrigo Londoño, acknowledged that the ex-guerrilla Farc-Ep “planned and carried out” two attacks against former vice president Germán Vargas Lleras.
In the text, which is addressed to former President Juan Manuel Santos, with whom the signing of the Peace Agreement was concluded, Londoño assures that the ex-combatants who promised to tell the truth will “appear honestly before the JEP and the Truth Commission “and that is why they are” recognizing responsibilities according to the word promised. ”
(Further: On November 4 and 17, the FARC will speak at the JEP about the crime of Gómez HurtadOR)
In this sense, ‘Timochenko’ recalls that last month they recognized the crime of Álvaro Gómez Hurtado, whose assassination was perpetrated 25 years ago, on November 2, 1995. He also says that they will recognize “before the authorities of truth, the two attacks that The Farc-Ep planned and executed “against Germán Vargas Lleras, who, they also say, will ask for forgiveness” with humility.
