Three people were killed on Thursday night in rural area of ​​Andes, Antioquia. One of the victims is a minor, authorities confirmed.

According to the first investigations, the crime occurred at 8:30 at night in the Cañaveral Bajo village, Tumaco farm, which is about 50 minutes from the urban area of ​​said municipality in southwest Antioquia.

The hypothesis that exists so far indicates that it was a dispute over the sale of narcotics in that territory.

The victims were identified as Arlex James Rodríguez Mora, 27, a farmer born in Manizales; Gilberto Alejandro Potes Valois, 19, a student; and Alexis Ospina Cruz, 14 years old.

According to the police report, they reached this area of ​​the municipality after a call.

“Through a telephone call to the Farallones police substation, they report that several shots were heard at the Tumaco farm. Police personnel arrived at the scene of the events making contact with the family members who reside there, who state that several armed and hooded subjects had entered , shooting at the victims “, dictates the report.

The diagnosis indicates that this situation corresponds to territorial disputes between criminal organizations for the maximization of illicit income

Luis Fernando Suárez, governor in charge of Antioquia, lamented the crime that mourns Andes and announced that measures will be taken with the Army, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police, in order to combat the violent people that are shaking the region. “My solidarity with the people of Andes, today hard hit by violence. We know the complexity of the criminal phenomena that plague the Southwest and we are not going to cease in our efforts to combat them, ”said the president.

The fact adds to another massacre that occurred in the same subregion, but in the municipality of Venice, this August 23. At the time, the authorities announced that they will strengthen territorial and institutional controls within the framework of the Coffee Harvest Plan.

“There is clearly identified a dispute between criminal structures of the ‘Gulf Clan’ and criminal structures that have a presence in the Aburrá valley, that dispute today is strategic because we are starting the coffee harvest and what these criminals want is territorial control in order to be able to sell narcotics, ”said Suárez.

The president added that the massacres in Venice and Andes will not go unpunished.
