Three motorcyclists rob a woman who was exercising in the north of Cali

A woman who was exercising on a street in the north of Cali was the victim of three people who were moving on a motorcycle, intimidated her and took her belongings.

The fact, which would have happened on Thursday of last week, was known in the last hours after the video with the images of the event was released.

Apparently, the robbery would have occurred around 6:50 am on an unspecified avenue in the north of the city, since some reports indicate that it was on the 4N and in others, that it occurred on the 6N.

Although she tries to run, she hits the front tire of the third bike. The last two subjects rummage through the athlete’s pockets and then remove her earrings, to finally flee.

The Metropolitan Police of Cali indicated that so far there is no formal complaint for the incident and no further details are known about it.

The city’s Security Secretariat has not made any pronouncements either until this Sunday night.

According to figures from the Cali Security Observatory, as of October 30 of this year, complaints of thefts in the city had dropped by 30.5% compared to 2019 (17,666 versus 25,405 in 2019).

However, the perception of security in the city has deteriorated. According to councilman Milton Castrillón, thefts, robberies and homicides in the city increase every day.

In addition, last June, Councilor Diana Rojas had already denounced that the robberies of recreational athletes are being repeated in several areas of Cali and proposed to the Administration to enable safe routes for sports in the city.

“After the development of the pandemic, the needs have changed and today more than ever the public space becomes a favorable setting for people after three months of confinement. In this sense, a city model must be promoted that allows the use of public space with quality and safety, “he stressed at the time.
