This Wednesday, October 7, the successful novel Pedro el Escamoso returns to the Caracol channel, which aired its first episode on April 19, 2001. Almost 20 years later, many Colombians wonder what happened to the protagonist of this romantic comedy, Miguel Varoni.

Although this Colombian actor participated in novels such as Decisiones, Los Victorinos, Más saber el diablo and Ojo por ojos, among others, after starring as Pedro el flamoso, his face was never seen again on national channels.

Varoni, it was hired by the Telemundo television network as an exclusive actor. But today he is still in that entertainment company as vice president and creative director of Telemundo Global Studios.

The artist told how was the transition from actor to director to Infobae Miami. “The direction came later, because of my love towards staging, cameras, lenses, cinema: towards everything that is telling a story. As a result of that love, I had the need to study film and television directing in Spain. Then I started directing in Colombia, until ‘Pedro el flamoso’ arrived, which was quite an event, “said Varoni.

Likewise, he confessed that he came to work in the United States in 2003 and directly at Telemundo. “First I entered as an exclusive actor; later in 2006, I changed my contract to creative director of Telemundo, and Today I am vice president and creative director of Telemundo Global Estudios”Explained Varoni.

In dialogue with Infobae Miami in 2019, Varoni indicated that he hoped to act again. “I am going to act again because acting is my life. But if you ask me what I want, I’m having a lot of fun in this new role.”He commented.

However, recently, in an interview with the Colombian entertainment program ‘Lo sé Todo’, Varoni maintained that he put acting aside, but not to move away from the sets as such, but to exercise other roles and that, for now, that’s what fills it up.

Pedro el flamoso arrived on television in 2001, after Yo soy Betty la fea that aired on RCN, the Caracol Televisión competition. Caracol production was on the air for more than two years, with 452 episodes.

Peter the Scaly was starred by Miguel Varoni and Sandra Reyes, with the antagonistic participation of Javier Gómez and the stellar performances of Alina Lozano, Fernando Solórzano, Jairo Camargo, Álvaro Bayona, Andrea Guzmán, Diego Ramos and Marcela Mar.
