As a support to the quarantined automotive sector, the RUNT began the process of validating a virtual system to specify vehicle registrations through the Internet. It is a vital step to revive the vehicle trade in the country.
Everything seems to indicate that it is a matter of days the possibility of new vehicle registrations, or transfers of those already registered, through a digital platform specifically intended for this purpose. It is just what both brands and vehicle dealers needed to restart your business, despite confinement.
It is a joint development between the Ministry of Transport and the National Single Registry of Traffic (RUNT), which consists of remove biometric footprint required within the current enrollment process. This was confirmed by the newspaper Time, who had direct knowledge of the realization of pilot tests.
Under the new system, every citizen will be fully identified from your cell phone or computer to specify the registration, transfer and other procedures required before the traffic authorities.
The process
As indicated by the source, the process will be similar to that used by banks for customer validation. The user will report from his personal device, wherever he is, the data of ID, names, surnames, date of birth and date of issue of the document, to confront them with the Registrar.
After the above and answer questions about the financial history, the user receives a text message or email with a secure code to authenticate your identity. Then, the RUNT validates the data to identify the person, giving free passage to the corresponding transit entity to carry out the registration.
This is the complement for the different systems of online vehicle purchase that the brands have arranged in recent weeks, and that will allow start the central axis of the automotive sector despite the limitations.
Legal vacuum
Currently, the RUNT system allows total interaction between brands, dealers, banks, Registrar and DIAN, being able to track import, nationalization and tax payment procedures. It would even digitize the imprinting, with photographs converted to PDF that will allow to compare serial numbers with import manifests.
With everything and this great advance, which perfects the existing registration system, no regulation yet by the Ministry of Transport that allows transit agencies to function virtually. This legal vacuum, according to Time, would not be an obstacle for said entities resume your work that way.
