This is how the night of the candles was lived in the middle of the pandemic

In some neighborhoods of Bogotá, the atypical scene was marked by family gatherings in which, fearful of contagion, citizens came out with masks at the doors of their houses or the terraces of their apartments to light a candle and pray.

Several family groups arrived at the Catedral Primada de Bogotá, in the Plaza de Bolívar who lit candles in a space where local authorities traditionally held cultural events every year.

In other cities, like Cali, trucks with Christmas lights went through the different areas so that people did not have to move from their houses to go see lights.

A different situation was experienced in Barranquilla, where isolation was respected but due to the curfew imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, which in recent days has had a notable increase in that area. In addition, unlike other regions of Colombia, where the celebration of candles is in the afternoon and night of December 7, in Barranquilla it is at dawn on December 8.

In social networks, dozens of users wanted to show how they lived the night of December 7 with their family, being careful about the COVID-19 pandemic:

But for others it was atypical not to go out partying or meet with more people, so they could not stand it and went out to meet in some parks. RCN Radio reported agglomerations in sectors of Bogotá such as the Park Way and consumption of liquor in the streets.

There were also complaints of some crowds in closed, although private places:

There were those who missed the pyrotechnics show at the Torre Colpatria in Bogotá:

Some uploaded videos of fireworks that are generally manipulated by experts, but the majority of complaints were for another type of gunpowder; the one that only explodes and makes noise was the one that was felt in the most places in the country and aroused complaints and annoyance among citizens.
