Crossing the Colombian Andes, crossing the Central mountain range was a dream that began in 1902. More than a hundred years later this project sees the light at the end of the tunnel.
In the midst of the majesty of the mountains of the Quindío and Tolima departments, this dream comes true, which had two great enemies: the contractual and the technical.
The first left an extra cost, according to the Comptroller’s Office, of about 500 percent of the initial value.
The second: the overcoming of eight technological failures of more than three kilometers, including the La Soledad fault, which almost ruined the project.
