A rumor that broke out on the morning of this Thursday in the streets of the north of the Aburrá Valley became news: a man who entered a well-known Bello pizzeria to commit a robbery, died apparently shot by his own weapon.

Yes, that is one of the hypotheses that the authorities handle about the death of the man in the vicinity of the Hut of Marco Fidel Suárez.

“According to the report that we have and that is reported to the quadrant, a person is going to commit a robbery inside a restaurant, operate his own firearm and accidentally cause death. That is manifested by the victims, ”General Eliécer Camacho, commander of the Metropolitan Police of Valle de Aburrá told the press.

Daniela Ortega, the secretary of the Government of Bello, gave more details about what happened, but also refrained from stating if it was really an accident.

“Indeed, a 901 is filed. An individual who entered a commercial establishment to steal, apparently takes one of the workers to the second floor, perhaps he was going to abuse her. It is not yet clear whether the weapon he was carrying is fired at him or if he dies from another act, it has not yet been established, ”said the official.

According to Camacho, the Attorney General’s Office and Legal Medicine will be in charge of establishing whether the projectile that took the man’s life came from his own weapon or someone else’s.

What is clear is that it is the second case of a thief who is shot dead in less than 24 hours in the Aburrá Valley. The other one fell on Las Vegas Avenue, in the south of Medellín when he tried to rob, nothing more and nothing less than, an escort.

His accomplice fled when he saw him badly injured and before he could be captured.
