For the crime of prevaricate, the Tenth Civil Judge of Cartagena will be denounced, for having denied the marriage of a lesbian couple in Cartagena, assuring that it went against God and his Christian morality.
The complaint will be presented by the senator of the U party, Roy Barreas, who pointed out that “this judge is a danger and I am personally going to denounce him for prevarication. Going over the rulings of the Constitutional Court, attached to his own interpretation of what he calls the protection of God, he says that it is an outburst in Colombia to consider all gods as if such gods existed ”. For Barreras, this judge “any day in a sentence is going to condemn an inquisition or stone unfaithful women, because that is what the sacred texts of many religions say.”
He also stated that “this is an offense to the Colombian LGTBI community, but it is also an absurd setback. If it were a preacher in a corner, it would not be serious, but it belongs to a judge of the Republic ”.
