The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation released the spoken portrait of the alleged person responsible for the murder of Andrés Felipe Guevara, a journalist from Q’hubo Cali, who died this Wednesday after being wounded last Monday in eastern Cali.
Likewise, the authorities announced that they increased to $ 50 million the reward for information that allows finding the whereabouts of the alleged murderer.
The mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, indicated that no hypothesis is ruled out, although on Tuesday the commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police, General Manuel Vásquez, had preliminarily disproved that the fact was related to his profession.
“We do not rule out any type of hypothesis in the research in this regard. A good researcher, as we have them in our city and in our country, must have all the hypotheses on the agenda and all be evaluated,” said Ospina.

The local president referred to the possible causes of the homicide, such as his journalistic practice, the place where he was, the person he was with on the day of the hit man attack and “those that are associated with the stories that he may have directed in 2017 “.
“In order to consolidate this investigation, our Mayor’s Office increases the reward to $ 50 million,” he stressed, and said that together with the Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa, and the Cali Police commander they have had “a team of the highest profile “to take the case.
In this regard, General Vásquez announced that “a specialized investigation team has been organized with a prominent prosecutor who will go to work on this investigation so that we can demonstrate that impunity will not reign in the face of this unfortunate event.”
Finally, Mayor Ospina sent a message to Felipe Guevara’s family, especially his mother.
“It is really very sad that this situation has occurred. He was just beginning to live and with us, unfortunately it is not the product of a violence that has been exercised in our territory for a long time.”
And he pointed out that his government “will do everything possible so that this vile murder does not go unpunished. We cannot recover his son, but he can do everything possible so that at least there is justice.”
“His journalistic work should be the first hypothesis”: Flip
Andrés Felipe Guevara, 27 years old, was the victim of an attack with a firearm on the night of Monday, December 21, when he was with another young man on Calle 42 and Carrera 49 in the Mariano Ramos neighborhood, east of Cali.
In that place they were surprised by a man who shot both of them several times. Guevara received five bullet wounds.
Due to the seriousness of his chest, stomach and leg injuries, he was transferred to a hospital in the south of the city where he underwent two surgeries between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Felipe was a graduate of Social Communication and Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente.
The Foundation for Freedom of the Press, Flip, lamented the crime and asked the authorities to promptly investigate his murder and to take his work as a journalist for the daily Q’hubo as their first hypothesis.
Regarding his initial statements, the Cali Police commander said Wednesday that the investigation of the case, and all its hypotheses, will be left to the specialized team.
“Preliminarily we do not have enough information to be able to assure it, and neither did I assure it outright and that is why a specialized investigative team, which I will also accompany, will reach clarification,” he argued.
