A good scare was taken by the model Laura Tobón, her husband Álvaro Rodríguez and other relatives, after being adrift in a boat in the middle of the night in the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta.

They were around five hours of anguish that the 14 crew members of the boat ‘Sea Groove II’ lived. This group went out to tour the lagoon complex on Saturday afternoon, but a mechanical failure left them trapped in the water.
Some fishermen from the Pueblo Viejo municipality located the damaged boat and notified the National Navy that immediately coordinated the rescue efforts.
“Personnel from the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta made the land displacement to the Pueblo Viejo sector and with the support of the community the embarkation of the personnel aboard a civilian vessel was carried out,” says the report from the maritime authority.

They also reported that the rescued personnel, who it was nine nautical miles away, had no health problems and he was immediately transferred to the tourist pier in Pueblo Viejo (Magdalena).
The model Laura Tobón recorded a video to thank the Navy and the fishermen for the rescue work they carried out successfully.

“With my family they were moments of great fear and uncertainty because we did not know where we were, thanks to the community and the Navy we managed to get out of where we were. I’m still shaking, ”Tobón said.
