At dawn on Friday, January 1, 2021, the homicide of a retired police officer was registered.
The incident occurred after 3 am, in the municipality of Ciénaga (Magdalena), when Juan Roberto Rúa Pacheco, as the victim was identified, went out to help a person who was in trouble near his home.

According to witnesses, a woman started screaming for help. Local media speak of two hypotheses: that she was being robbed or that she was being violated.
At that moment, the ex-police officer went out to see what was happening and a motorcycle, with two men, passed him shooting.

‘Hoy, Diario del Magdalena’ said that one of the bullets hit the victim in the right armpit.

Rúa Pacheco was immediately taken to the Ciénaga Polyclinic, where he died.The attack was registered in the security cameras of the sector.
