The opaque rancher José ‘el Ñeñe’ Hernández, uploaded to his networks a photo of the HK-4653 helicopter, which belongs to Aeronáutica de Santander SA (Sasa), a firm seized in the category of ‘criminal organization’, and managed by the Company of Special Assets (SAE).
The administrators of Sasa and the firm from which they had rented the device at the time of the photo (Trair SAS), denied at the time having transported ‘el Ñeñe’; although a shareholder of the latter company admitted that one day he was introduced to it.

But the episode revealed issues around that seized signature, which the new SAE president, Andrés Ávila, reported to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Among the topics being investigated is a millionaire financial leasing to acquire the HK-4485 license plate helicopter; and the controls that established the flight routes of the three helicopters that had been operating are reviewed.

Engine failure
This is stated in a confidential report, which led the Prosecutor’s Office to carry out an inspection of Sasa’s books, files, headquarters, logs and devices 5 days ago.

What is being sought is whether the inconsistencies recorded in a report ordered by the new depositary, Colonel (r.) Of Antinarcotics and pilot Víctor Luna Suárez, are true. Regarding the HK-4485 helicopter, the document indicates that the negotiation of the aircraft (in 2019) was for its immediate operation, to replace another helicopter that had crashed.
Andrés Ávila, president of the SAE, has already reported the case to the Prosecutor’s Office.
In fact, the insurance of the ship that crashed was used: although the contract was sealed for 1,190 thousand dollars, the 859 thousand dollars of the insurance were advanced.
White Jet Leases LLC (based in Miami) assured that it would deliver the aircraft to Sasa in airworthy condition, along with all its equipment.

In fact, it presented inactivity for about 4 years and a progressive deterioration probably due to lack of maintenance.
And the engine arrived faulty.
Now it is in a conciliation stage with White Jet Leases LLC, because the spare parts and labor required for the aircraft have been borne by Sasa: 150 thousand dollars.
Although the contract said that the helicopter was ready, Sasa had to assemble it and the engine is faulty.
‘Everything has been legal’
Luiz Stein told EL TIEMPO that, both the old DNE and the SAE, he told them that several members of Sasa’s old board were still in the company.
“They told me that none of them were being required by the authorities and that there was no problem because they were not in management positions,” explained the businessman, noting that he has always acted in accordance with the law.
And he added that when he left Sasa, by decision of the SAE (in July) the leasing helicopter was ready to fly.

For his part, the president of the SAE, Andrés Ávila, explained that the DNE did not finalize the employment relationships of people linked to the extinction process.
