This Sunday, park rangers from the Los Nevados National Natural Park found the body of a cyclist in the area known as El Cisne. The authorities are evaluating whether it is a man reported missing.
According to the information provided by park employees and known to the Caldas Risk Management chief, yesterday a group of cyclists informed officials that one of their companions had lost his way while touring the site.
“Today, while taking a tour, the guadapartques meet a person on a journey that is forbidden to the public at this time. They communicated with family members and the Police to inspect the person ”, stated the director of the Risk Management, Environment and Climate Change Headquarters, Félix Ricardo Giraldo Delgado.

Giraldo also indicated that Police units from the municipality of Villamaría (Caldas) travel to the place at this time to confirm if the person found corresponds to the person reported as missing.

Through social networks, several people reported the disappearance of an athlete who goes by the name of Francisco Javier Ospina and who, according to published, it left at dawn on Saturday at 4.30 in the morning doing the El Condor Route towards Nevado del Ruiz. The man is a native of Pereira.
It should be noted that many areas of the Los Nevados PNN are frequented by cyclists, however, according to preliminary information, the area where the events occurred, as it was not enabled, is lonely and – compared to other sectors of the park – much colder.
