This Holy Saturday it was confirmed that in the department of Antioquia It extends the night curfew for five more days: between Monday 5 and Friday 9 April. The measure was taken as a result of how soaring infections are in that part of the country and the critical situation in hospitals.
The night curfew the other week will work in different ways. In the 10 municipalities of the Aburrá Valley and the nine municipalities of the San Nicolás Valley in eastern Antioquia (see the full list at the end of this note), the mobility restriction will work from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day and will be accompanied by dry law.
For its part, in the remaining 106 municipalities of the department, the night curfew it will start at 8:00 pm and will end at 5:00 am the next day, but in this case there will be no prohibition. The sale of alcoholic beverages at night will be allowed.
Similarly, during the next week the peak and ID will be maintained in Antioquia, Measure with which entry to public and private establishments is controlled depending on the last number of each citizen’s identity card. It should be remembered that the only ones exempted from this measure are restaurants.
Medellín already has a 95% occupancy in its intensive care units, something that has many citizens of the Antioquia capital really worried. The medical panorama in the department is not very different, since the ICU bed occupancy there is 90%. The situation is so delicate in that part of the country that Antioquia reported more than 3,000 new cases of coronavirus on Good Friday, 30% of all those reported in Colombia.
