A hard blow against crime and insecurity in Bogota gave troops from the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, who, in cooperation with officials of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, they managed to dismantle the gangs of thieves identified as’The K ‘and’ Fénix Admon ‘, which centered their criminal action on the Transmilenio buses.
According to the authorities’ report, the investigations carried out allowed to determine that within the criminal organization chart there were two patrollers of the National Police, assigned to the security of the massive security system and who are part of the group of 12 detainees.

According to the videos analyzed by the authorities as part of the investigations, the criminals operated under the tickling pattern, getting their loot at the entrance of the articulated, when they took advantage of the ‘tumult’ typical of rush hours, to steal cell phones and wallets.
In the videos it was also possible to identify the participation of a group of women serving as accomplices, and who helped store loot by receiving it from thieves. They would be dressed like nurses.
According to the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, the band called ‘Phoenix Admon ‘ had the stations whipped CAD, Paloquemao, Ricaurte and Calle 75, on the NQS trunk.

For his part, Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa, explained that the other disjointed band is known as’Lot K ‘ and responds to armed robbery. His operation was recurrent during off-peak hours, taking advantage of the low occupation of the articulated.
The modus operandi of this organization consisted in that while a group of thieves intimidated passengers with knives and firearms, others were in charge of blocking the doors, and others of collecting valuables.

The participation of the uniformed would be measured by the payment of between 350,000 and 400,000 pesos for each of the opportunities in which the thieves entered to commit crimes.
