They destroy two tons of cocaine found in a gigantic complex in Tumaco, Nariño

In a joint operation, the Navy, the National Army and the Attorney General’s Office succeeded in destroying a cocaine production complex in the general area of ​​the Curay River, in Tumaco, Nariño.

The drug production laboratory belonged to the residual Organized Armed Group “Western Block Alfonso Cano”. The complex consisted of eight structures dedicated to the production of cocaine hydrochloride and had the capacity to produce a total of four tons of cocaine per month.

In the operation carried out by units of the Marine Infantry Battalion, the Anti-Drug Trafficking Battalion and members of the CTI, 2,026 kilos of cocaine were found ready to be packed and transported to Central American countries. In addition, 904 kilos of coca paste were found.

More than a ton of solid supplies were found at the site: 4,518 gallons of liquid supplies, three Martians, ten microwave ovens, a compressor, a hydropump, eight digital grameras, 2 filtration equipment, 360 labels, a vacuum packer, among other elements used for the production of cocaine.

As reported by Rear Admiral José David Espitia Jiménez, commander of the Joint Task Force against Drug Trafficking No. 72 Poseidón, “with the dismantling of this complex for the production of cocaine, it is estimated that more than 13 billion pesos will be affected. finances of this residual organized armed group, money that includes the cost of the illegal complex and the commercialization of the drug in Central American countries and the United States ”.

The structures, drugs and supplies were destroyed in a controlled manner at the scene of the events, complying with all biosafety protocols and environmental preservation measures.
