In shock is the municipality of Caucasia (Bajo Cauca Antioqueño) by a new act of violence that occurred at dawn this Sunday and that left four dead, five wounded.
The incident occurred around 2:00 am in the urban area of Cuturú, located one hour and twenty minutes from Caucasia.

In Cuturú there is no Police
One of the issues that became known after the fact is that the Antioquia Police Department is not present at the scene.
In this regard, the authorities indicated that they are present in the six municipalities of Bajo Cauca Antioqueño, in their urban centers, because it is a subregion strongly hit by violence, but Cuturú was not prioritized.
“In the populated center of Cuturú there is no presence of the public force, precisely from all the work that has been done in the last events that have been taking place in Bajo Cauca. There is no presence of the public force because it is not a prioritized district“explained Colonel Cabra.
Until now, the information that the authorities have on the possible perpetrators is the presence of members of the Clan del Golfo, the organized criminal group of Los Caparros, in addition to that there are some strongholds of the Eln in some rural areas of the municipalities of the Lower Cauca antique.
According to the Report of Massacres in Colombia during 2020 (cut-off to December 6) made by the Observatory of Conflicts, Peace and Human Rights of Indepaz, Antioquia is the department with the most massacres so far this year.
In turn, this would be the 83rd massacre in Colombia of those that occurred this year.
