Harassed. This is how the inhabitants of the Villa Mar neighborhood say they feel, in the village of La Playa, due to the “high charges” on energy bills that they received in October with the new operator that came to work in the department.

What we paid was 18 thousand pesos and suddenly it began to arrive in $ 100,000 or $ 150 thousand, we complained and they told us that those who were paying we were going to be deducted for those who do not pay, ”said Juan Carlos Rodríguez.
Another of the inhabitants stated that “Just” moved to the neighborhood in September in a “new” apartment and lasted 15 days outside so he only consumed energy for half the month and the bill was high.
“I live alone in an apartment, It came to me for $ 158 thousand a single month that I was only 15 days and the rest was alone. This charge seems very exaggerated to me and apart from that there is no meter that records the actual consumption we have made, ”said Rosalba Castañeda.
Another of the problems that they stated to present in the billing, is the collection of an old debt from energy services, since, as indicated in some months, the invoice did not arrive and that is why they did not make the payment.
They indicated that this debt was “supposedly paid off” since the State paid the previous company the amounts owed from the inhabitants of strata 1 and 2, so they would make a “clean slate”, but currently the new company Air-e is charging them the previous balance.
“It is assumed that the state canceled the debt of strata 1 and 2, they are now charging us the entire account that is already settled, it came to me in 3 million pesos. Those bills are because people made debt payments and they did not appear and that is why they stopped paying and all that was added“Said Carlos Almendrales, community leader.
Senator Armando Benedetti rejected these actions and said that “they are being harassed, when you know that they cannot be made to pay. The State paid them and two or three got rich but strata 1 and 2 will not have energy and the problems will worsen, with that action we are facing pirates ”.
