In Cali, masked and disguised citizens aboard motorcycles made massive caravans on Friday night, despite the prohibitions decreed by the Mayor’s Office for the celebration of Halloween.

In videos, the breaches, by some people, of the measures established in decree 4112.010.20.1888 of 2020 were recorded.

The motorcyclists, some of them with their license plates covered to make it difficult to identify them, traveled through important sectors of the capital of Valle del Cauca.

There were reports of caravans on streets 5 and 9, Carrera 66, Avenida de las Américas and Sexta, Autopista Suroriental and Parque del Perro.

These caravans, as well as “any activity that, due to their conditions, facilitates the gathering of people” were prohibited from 5:00 pm on Friday to 6:00 am on Monday, according to the aforementioned decree.

The authorities promised harsh sanctions for those who participate in these types of caravans.

According to article 181 of the Police Code, the fine for the organizers of parties, caravans and other events that congregate up to 300 people will be between 100 and 150 Current Minimum Legal Monthly Wages (SMLMV), that is, between $ 90 million and $ 130 millions.

The Ministry of Security and Justice confirmed that it intercepted a caravan in the Parque del Perro. From this agency they assured that several fines were imposed, but they did not specify how many.

It is expected that in the next few hours the city authorities will pronounce on these acts of citizen indiscipline.
