They capture the mayor of Curumaní, Henry Chacón, for the murder of a former councilor – Other Cities – Colombia

The mayor of Curumaní (Cesar), Henry Chacón, was sheltered with an intramural security measure, after being captured this Tuesday by members of the CTI when he was preparing to enter a security council called by the Cesar government in Valledupar.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the local president will remain deprived of liberty in a preventive manner while the trial against him is advanced after being charged with the murder of former councilor Ana Cristina López de Moreno.

The crime occurred on November 26, 2003, and the members of the Motilona Resistance front of the Northern Bloc of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (Auc) are blamed.

According to the investigating body, the evidentiary material elements allow inferring his presumed participation in the death of the former applicant; in consecuense, The president is accused of the crimes of conspiracy to commit aggravated crimes and murder of a protected person.

Regarding this homicide, the mayor has always declared himself innocent and claims to be the victim of the cartel of false witnesses of paramilitaries who operate from the country’s prisons
