Until the sector known as El Viaducto, on kilometer 15 of the road that leads from Landázuri to Cimitarra in Santander, the Police units arrived to capture the brother of Jhon Jairo Morales, who was killed last Saturday.

According to the authorities’ report, the victim and her brother had a dispute over land that their parents had inherited. The confrontation had been going on for a long time, but this Saturday it ended in tragedy.

Apparently, the 46-year-old detainee today pulled out a shotgun and shot Jhon Jairo Morales in the chest. The 36-year-old man died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

Colonel Iván Darío Santamaría Montoya, commander of the Santander Police, indicated that the attacker fled the scene, so it was necessary to activate a padlock plan to capture him.

“Thanks to the information from the community, which alerted the police quadrant in a timely manner about what happened, an effective reaction was deployed by our uniformed officers, achieving the location and capture of the aggressor in the El Viaducto sector.”

The captured man was placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office to answer for the crime of homicide.

“The facts would be presented by the discussion of two members of the same family in a process of succession of some land. Apparently, an altercation arose where the aggressor took out a shotgun-type firearm and shot his brother at chest height causing immediate death, “said Colonel Santamaría.
