Units of the Caribbean Military Gaula in coordination with the CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office they arrived in Barranquilla directly from Bogotá to carry out an operation that consisted of capturing at least 15 people, apparently linked to the embezzlement of Colpensiones. Among those captured are judges, public defenders, lawyers and other officials.
EL HERALDO preliminarily learned that the captures took place in different parts of the city from six in the morning this Saturday. Several of those captured were initially sent to the URI of the Prosecutor’s Office, but, apparently, they were transferred to military installations of the Second Brigade of the Army.
One of those captured would be the lawyer, former director of the Forest Prison and currently an official of the Ombudsman’s Office, Rusbell Martínez Villa. This media also learned that the other captured are judges, judicial officials of labor courts and lawyers, all, presumably, linked to the Colpensiones case, which is why they would be prosecuted for administrative corruption and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Until the afternoon of this Saturday neither the Prosecutor’s Office nor the Police have provided details of the arrests, but sources from the Prosecutor’s Office told this medium that between eight and 15 people were captured. Also that five of the accused were not in their places of residence when the investigators went to capture them.
Captures were also made in the departments of Cesar and Magdalena.
