Investigators from the Asset Laundering Unit of the Attorney General’s Office arrived to a residential complex on the Ring Road, in Floridablanca, to capture a man known as ‘Toto Ariza’, dedicated to the commercialization of cattle.
The operation, directed from the capital of the Republic, was carried out this Wednesday around noon. The details of the raid for now are being kept strictly confidential by authorities.
As this writing was able to know, the name of the captured person appears in one of the audios released a few months ago, between the former deputy Iván Aguilar and the rancher and drug trafficker José Guillermo Hernández, alias’ Ñeñe ‘, in the sounded case of the’ Ñeñepolítica ‘.
However, the authorities have not released whether the capture of this Wednesday in Floridablanca would be related to the same case, as well as the crimes for which Ariza was apprehended.
It should be remembered that the ‘Ñeñepolítica’ is the name of the scandal for the alleged purchase of votes for the 2018 presidential campaign of the current president of Colombia, with the Colombian rancher and drug trafficker José Guillermo Hernández, known as the ‘Ñeñe Hernández’, who was assassinated in Brazil in May 2019.
According to the authorities, those captured, who are in the bunker of the Bucaramanga Prosecutor’s Office, will be transferred in the next few hours to Bogotá by agents of the Technical Investigation Corps, CTI.
In the next few hours, the details of the operation will be delivered from the Attorney General’s Office.
The ‘Ñeñepolítica’
This notorious case came to light after the authorities, who had captured more than 25,000 telephone conversations from Hernández, discovered that many of these apparently spoke of financing and buying votes for Duque’s campaign, and where it involves many people from Colombian politics and businessmen.
Since then the authorities have focused the investigation on the movements of the ‘Ñeñe’ in the Caribbean region of Colombia, Santander and Norte de Santander.
In the course of the investigation, the authorities have seized several assets in the process of extinction of ownership, among which is a property in Bogotá; in Bolívar 2 properties and 4,136 livestock; in Cesar 13 properties, 3 companies and 757 livestock; in Santander 21 properties and 694 livestock.
