The murder of the two minors, a 6-year-old girl and her 5-year-old brother, occurred at dawn this Wednesday in the area known as Caselata, and the man captured as allegedly responsible is the father of the children, whom Canal One identifies as Amed Rodolfo Bayona Moncada.
Preliminary versions collected by this outlet indicate that the children had died from “mechanical asphyxia”, and that the accused allegedly claimed responsibility for the crime, claiming that he had “sentimental problems” with his wife.
Regarding this version of events, Gente Activa Comunicaciones said that, according to police sources, Bayona Moncada left a note in which he tried to justify the crime.
“The subject had left a written note in which he explained his economic and sentimental situation, since his partner had abandoned him and lived in Bogotá, and that he was going to commit suicide,” said Captain Edwin Rodríguez, commander of the Police station from Zipaquirá, to the news portal.
As for the captured, the officer added in that medium that he was surprised when he was moving along the road that leads to the municipality of Cajicá, and that “he simply said it was because of his sentimental and financial situation.” In addition, that Bayona Moncada records a history of crimes of violent carnal access with a minor under 14 years of age, and that he is listed as “reinserted” from an armed group.
