Jose Humberto Rodriguez, elected mayor of Sutatausa (Cundinamarca) for the period 2020-2023, was assassinated with a shot in the head on December 3, 2019.
Almost a year after the fact, which was initially attributed to three members of the Los Cachorros structure who were prosecuted, a new turn was taken in the investigation. This Wednesday, in the middle of the session of the municipality council, Agustín Rodríguez Silva was arrested.

As reported by the Cundinamarca Government, the councilor and former candidate for mayor of Sutatausa was captured by the Sijin due to his alleged participation in the murder of José Humberto Rodríguez.
In a video, it is observed when three police officers wait for the official at the exit of the compound to later upload him to the patrol. The probative material linking Rodríguez Silva to the murder is unknown at this time.

José Humberto Rodríguez, 51, was attacked by armed individuals just before walking home. The elected president was coming from a meeting with the police and other mayors in the region when he was shot in the skull that left him lying on the ground.
“It was terrible. We were in front of the house. We had to see him on the ground, wounded. We transferred him to the Ubaté hospital and then to the La Sabana Clinic, in Chia”, Recounted, at the time, his son Julián Rodríguez.
Rodríguez had no security scheme and, according to his family, he did not receive threats during the electoral campaign.
