The Ideam assured that the rains in the capital have been accompanied by electrical storms and even hail, in sectors of the center, west and north of the city.
The Idiger ensures that in the localities of United Neighborhoods, Teusaquillo, Chapinero, Santa Fe and San Cristóbal there have been heavy and moderate rains.
One of the sectors that was most affected by the rain was NQS Avenue with 68th Street, where the water reached the door of the houses and premises. In addition, the passage at kilometer 7 of the Bogotá-Choachí road has been affected, where a rock and mud slide caused the authorities to close the corridor to remove the material.
For its part, the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam) announced that the phenomenon of ‘La Niña’ will intensify on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of the month.
Ideam foresees an increase in rainfall in the Caribbean and Andean regions of Colombia and He also warned that said rains may be accompanied by electrical storms and winds above normal.
According to Ideam, given the rainfall and the intensity of the tropical waves, the most advisable thing is to take preventive measures in hillside areas before the possibility of sudden increases and / or landslides, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, as well as in the departments of Norte de Santander, Santander, Antioquia, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, Occidente de Arauca, Casanare and Meta.
