President Ivan Duque
ruled out new isolation due to outbreaks of COVID-19
that are being presented in the country and that concern the authorities, given the current holiday circumstances.
“This will be a Christmas
atypical, but cannot be less happy than before. The best way to celebrate is to understand that we must take care of ourselves and our loved ones. This Christmas we want to celebrate life with distance and the use of masks, “said the head of state in dialogue with THE HERALD
.
On the other hand, the president set dates for the vaccination: he said that between January and February it would start in Colombia, since, beyond the mechanism COVAX, the country has been talking in parallel with four laboratories.
“These conversations take place within the framework of a confidentiality agreement. We will be informing the country once we have closed the contracts. The country will have that vaccination cycle and we will try to make it as widespread as possible. We will try to develop it with all the speed and with a singular logistical capacity ”, he said.
