Contrary to what was believed, Mother’s Day is being celebrated in Colombia and, especially, in the main cities of the country, but in a unique way, caused by the coronaviruas pandemic: through electronic commerce, which led to a collapse in the shopping platforms, both food, flowers and gifts.

Excess orders have not yet been accounted for, but citizens complain of waiting up to 4 hours waiting for applications, while calling to complain about the delay indicates that the order is ready, but there are no domiciles available.

The situation is such that there are people who point out that, although they tried to prevent it, placing orders in the early hours, even in the afternoon they had not been able to celebrate the day with the mothers, due to the delays.

Restaurants and shops would be the ones with the highest demand that led to the collapse of the platforms, as indicated to the people who complain.

Food delivery was not enough, but citizens also indicate that in the order that is made at the physical points there are also delays due to high demand.

We must remember that Mother’s Day, for Colombians, is the second most important celebration of the year.
