“The ombudsman demands the prompt release of Alexis Bello, son of Mrs. María Guillermina and who has been kidnapped by an illegal group for three days,” added the agency.

Governor José Facundo Castillo announced a reward of up to 30 million pesos for information on the whereabouts of the hostages.

“We want to reject, deny and repudiate this violent act that occurred in the municipality of Arauca. We call on the civilian population to help us. To collaborate with the provision of information,” Castillo said that day at the end of a council security with local authorities.
