The lie that Petro would have fallen into in the interview with Vicky Dávila in WEEK

The senator of Colombia Humana, Gustavo Petro, gave much to talk about after his explosive statements in an interview with the director of SEMANA, Vicky Dávila on Sunday. One of his phrases caused a stir and multiple criticisms on social networks. This is the claim he made about the date of his last visit to Venezuela: according to him it was in 2006, but a trill would say the opposite. The senator’s response about his visit to the neighboring country came after Vicky Dávila’s question about whether or not it is true that he asked Venezuela for collaboration for his presidential candidacy in 2018.

“Let’s see Vicky, 2018? The last time I went to Venezuela was in 2006. What does 2018 have to do with what you are saying? Neither 2018, nor 2020, nor 2021, nor 2017 have I had any kind of contact with Venezuela, ”the senator replied to the director of SEMANA.

Nevertheless, the presidential candidate himself trilled on March 5, 2016: “I went into a supermarket in Caracas and look what I found. Could RCN have deceived me? ”The tweet reads. In this message, the former mayor of Bogotá made a strong criticism of the “misinformation” of some Colombian media about the situation in Venezuela.

After bringing up this trill, Petro would then face two possible scenarios, both with inaccuracies: assuming that what the senator told Semana about his last visit to Venezuela was in 2006 is true, his trill of 2016 then reflects that he did not go to Caracas at that time and therefore the photo is false; or, on the contrary, The photo is true but it is a lie that since 2006 he has not set foot on the territory of the neighboring country, as he told Vicky Dávila. And although in the interview, the senator did not name 2016 in his response, the truth is that he was clear when he said that he had not visited Venezuela for 14 years.
