The announcement was made by Mayor Jorge Iván Ospina, after a group of these nationals will hold a sit-in at CAM demanding aid and humanitarian trips.

Further, Mayor Ospina called on the President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro so that it assumes the responsibility of its compatriots who are in other countries.

It also reminded the President of the Republic, Iván Duque, that the territorial entities are not in the capacity to solve the problem of Venezuelan migration.

Likewise, Jorge Iván Ospina asked the mayors of neighboring municipalities not to transfer the problem to Cali and assume their own responsibility for the matter.
It is worth mentioning that the Attorney General’s Office opened a disciplinary investigation and ordered the provisional suspension for three months from theGovernment Secretary of Puerto Tejada (north of Cauca), Pablo Mina, for his alleged participation in the irregular transfer of a group of 18 Venezuelan citizens to the city of Cali.
