There are several investigative lines that remain active so that the massacre of five adolescents, registered on August 11 in the Llano Verde sector, in Cali, does not go unpunished.
The priority of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police is to achieve the location and capture of Gabriel Alejandro Bejarano who, according to the investigation, was one of the three men who participated in the murders and who would have shot the youth.
EL TIEMPO contacted one of the Cali Judicial Police investigators who is in charge of the case, who revealed several details about the development of the process and how they came to identify those involved.
So far, the Police have verified that the three named in the massacre – in addition to Bejarano, Yefferson Marcial Angulo Quiñones and Juan Carlos Loaiza Ocampo, who have already been captured and prosecuted – are being investigated – they worked for a company that is providing security to the work that it goes ahead to reinforce section 7 of the jarillón or canal on the Lili river, in the vicinity of a gully.
“The serious thing is that this is a transport company and not a surveillance company. The Superintendency of Surveillance does not have it registered under that company name“said the agent, who said that they were able to verify that the company provided security personnel to two of those involved, that is, Loaiza and Bejarano.

According to the investigation, Angulo was driving a backhoe, Loaiza was a watchman and Bejarano, who had a house for a prison and today is a fugitive, went to the construction site every day to work as a watchman. “without being on the company’s payroll“.
These irregularities are being investigated, although the Police stressed that the manager of the company has collaborated with the authorities.
Precisely, the investigators had their first line of work by verifying the communications that those involved sustained on the day of the massacre through radios, messages that crossed about the time the crime was perpetrated, at noon.

The investigator pointed out that they received the testimony of a young man who told them that a few days before the massacre he had entered the jarillon. He said that some men “had chased him, forced him to lie on the floor and warned him not to enter the place because they were tired of the robberies. They intimidated him with a weapon,” he said.

Another line of investigation is developed with an image that shows Bejarano leaving the work apparently after the crime. In that image you can see that he rides his bicycle and flees the place.

For Bejarano, up to 20 million pesos are offered for information that facilitates its capture.
The last line of investigation refers to a shirt located at the scene of the massacre, which does not belong to the youth. On that garment, Legal Medicine is doing DNA tests, as well as on glasses and two knives which, according to the testimony of the captured, were carried by the adolescents.

In addition to the evidence available so far, investigators are working to find the weapon, evidence that would be a fundamental piece in the case.
