“The Indigenous Minga who is currently housed in the Palacio de los Deportes has informed us of their decision to return to their territory and that tomorrow in a departure from Bogotá in their vehicles, in their goats, they will greet the organizations of the National Civic Strike, they will greet their day of protest before returning to the territory, ”said the district official.
Gómez also sent a message to all Colombians who will go out to march and protest this Wednesday, so that they abide by all biosafety regulations and thus prevent these mobilizations from becoming a source of contagion of covid-19.
“We thank all Colombians, all citizens who march to do so peacefully, with the use of masks, always keeping their distance and, above all, fulfilling civic duties,” the official stressed.
This Wednesday’s session has been convened mainly by the organizations of the National Civic Strike Committee for several weeks. Teachers from the Colombian Federation of Education Workers (Fecode) and the District Association of Education Workers (Ade) will also join her.
Among the demonstrations for this Wednesday, sit-ins are called in different parts of the city, caravans called from the Sevillana and Los Héroes sectors, as well as marches that will end in the Plaza de Bolívar in the afternoon.
The Secretary of Government of Bogotá assured that these mobilizations will be accompanied by coexistence managers, who will be from 9:00 in the morning at the different concentration points, and did not rule out the presence of the Police Esmad if necessary.
