The Serie “The head”, consisting of six one-hour episodes, follows events at an international research station in the Antarctica after the long, dark winter months, when the commander returns to find most of the scientists killed.
The series was filmed in a 2,000-square-meter studio in Tenerife, Spain, where the specially designed research station complex was erected Polaris VI where most of the action takes place.

It was reproduced on a real scale, based on information about the design and operation of this type of scientific facility, which allowed show runners to film long shots of the characters wandering around the station with total authenticity.
The production team also traveled to the rugged landscapes of Iceland to film the exteriors of the series, although most of the story takes place within the polar station, which provides a particular feeling of encapsulation.

SYNOPSIS OF THE “THE HEAD” SERIES
“The head” is a thriller survival set in the international polar station Polaris VI in the Antarctica during its long and dark Antarctic months, enveloped by the cold, the wind and the vast expanses of ice.
A select group of scientists from different countries are in charge of keeping the base operational during the long polar nights. But in the dead of winter, the station suddenly stops communicating with the outside world. With dialogues in English and Danish, the suspense story unfolds over six-hour episodes and is directed by Jorge Dorado (“The Pier”, “Mindscape”).

“A human head appears in Polaris VI, an international research base in Antarctica, that triggers a series of events that flood the base. The Head is a mysterious murder that is unlike any other, a survival thriller set in the most remote place on Earth. A puzzle box that will unfold over three separate timelines, told through conflicting testimonies from the last two survivors of an Antarctic mission. The public will have to decide what really happened at the Polaris VI station and who they can trust, to unravel the mysterious eyes preserved by the ice. ”

It will be released in 30 markets on June 12 and it will be available in 15 languages. HBO Asia will launch in Japan and the Southeast Asian, Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) will launch in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland, and OrangeTV will launch in Spain. The program has recently been acquired by the Brazilian transmission platform Globoplay, where it will be released in the coming months.

Own Álvaro Morte assured that it will give life to “A completely different character from what I have been doing in La casa de papel and El embarcadero”. On this occasion, he will step into the skin of Ramón, a cook whom he defines as “A rough guy”. The famous “Professor” claimed it was Golden, during the filming of The Embarcadero who proposed to accept this role, something that did not hesitate “Because I really wanted to do something in English and test if I was able to defend a role in English at this great level”, comments on his work in this series, recorded with dialogues in English and Danish.
And although he affirms that his role will not be the protagonist, he ensures that it is serving him a lot to learn interpretively.
