According to the governor, the person responsible for these events was present at the Palmira traffic section, with the vehicle that caused the accident and in the company of his lawyer.
“We can present before the competent authorities the person who is involved in these unfortunate events and let them carry out the investigations,” said Colonel Jorge Antonio Urquijo, commander of the Valle del Cauca Police, meanwhile.
For his part, Francisco Domínguez thanked “the pressure made by both the authorities and social networks so that this person could surrender.” The amateur athlete is still hospitalized and unable to move his legs.
“My recovery is progressing slowly, we are still in the clinic, there is still no clear medical report of what will happen to my legs. I can’t feel my legs, ”he said.
Jhon Jairo Jaramillo, lawyer for the driver accused of causing the traffic accident, stated that he fled the scene out of fear.
“It did not happen because he wanted to evade justice, but it was due to an act of fear in due course and, well, right now, he is here making a personal presentation,” he said.
Francisco remains with his faith intact and trusts that he will walk again to get on his bike and fulfill his goal of arriving in Medellín on board.
