The president assured that the measures in Bogotá have allowed to lower mortality, which went from 6.8% to 3.6%. It also announced new measures.
This Monday different economic sectors will be reactivated in the city, so it is expected that around 60,000 people in the city will have authorization to leave. Therefore, new measures will come into force and others such as the peak and gender will be lifted.
The mayor Claudia López pointed out that until now the isolation has been effective, since the city went from representing 50% of infections in the country to 38%, and the contagion rate was also lowered from 2.6 to 1.1 per million people, while mortality fell from 6.8% to 3.6%.
Likewise, he pointed out that the city is currently carrying out 2,500 daily tests and every 48 hours it delivers results, which has allowed it to target certain points of contagion and take specific actions as it is being done in Kennedy.
With the revival of the infrastructure, manufacturing and part of the commerce sectors, he invited citizens to maintain preventive measures, since now it will be mandatory to walk in the street with masks. In addition, you should maintain the insulation of one meter and wash your hands for at least three hours.
In the city around 1.6 million people were already transiting, so it is expected that with this opening in the city there will now be 2.5 million, so that now it will be “almost half of the Bogota citizens who will continue in quarantine, “said the president.
Given this, he indicated that in Transmilenio its activation will only be allowed to 35%, for this reason, 80km of bicycle route were enabled so that more citizens can mobilize by bicycle. Along with this, we work with companies to facilitate the use of bicycles and have more cycle parks.
“If 35% of Transmilenio’s capacity is exceeded, we will close again,” López said, indicating that with greater capacity, isolation cannot be guaranteed, which would force some sectors to close again. Another indicator for which the quarantine restrictions would be increased will be the occupation of the Intensive Care Units (ICU), which should not exceed 75%.
At the moment, according to the president, the return of at least 1,000 infrastructure companies and 3,000 manufacturing companies has been authorized. In addition, around 1,000 trading companies have signed up to reopen their doors. These must have established protocols for both security and mobility, which facilitate entry for their workers.
López also called on people who go out to work to denounce companies that fail to comply with the isolation measures and indicated that if they find inconsistencies, they may be able to sue the organizations criminally.
On the other hand, the Bogota mayor assured that the children will be able to leave between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. up to a kilometer from your home. They must do so accompanied by an adult, who can walk with up to three minors.
The localities
Given the conditions presented by the town of Kennedy, which has more cases of contagion in the city and almost double that of Suba, which is second on the list, the orange alert was declared, the restrictions remain to go out only to what essential, as well as the massive tests, disinfection activities and priority assistance were started.
According to López, similar measures will be taken at the points where there is evidence of growth in infections and companies were recommended to avoid that people living in special care UPZs (Bavaria, Calandaima Corabastos and Patio Bonito) have to return to to work. “Kennedy is the heart of Bogotá and it is not about stigmatizing them but about helping and caring for them.”
As for Bogotá Solidaria en Casa, he pointed out that 452,000 families have been assisted, with an average of $ 250,000 drawn, while in the coming days it is expected to deliver new markets in the prioritized area of the Kennedy town. “If you need medical attention or the market has not reached you, call us at 123,” said the president.
