Among the arguments for their release, the judge considered that there was not enough evidence against them, since they were not caught in flagrante delicto, nor did three of the men have a record.

The fourth person was sent to prison, but for a previous conviction. Given the circumstances, although the accused, who were released, will continue to be linked to the process for the illegal possession of firearms.

The defendants were captured, last Wednesday night, after residents of Normandy, in western Bogotá, alerted the authorities to the appearance of a suspicious vehicle on Rojas Avenue.

Inside the car, in which the four men were mobilized, the authorities found three firearms, knives, screwdrivers and rubber bands with which it is believed they were trying to rob apartments in this area of Engativá.

What drew attention is that once they were taken to the police station, during the police review and fingerprinting, the captured made faces when the uniformed men took the identification photos of each one.
