According to the Fox network, the event occurred on Monday exactly on the coast of Avila Beach and the women they saw their whole lives pass in a second were identified as Julie McSorley and Liz Cottriel.
In the place there were several people sailing calmly, watching whales, when suddenly a humpback jumped out of the water with her big mouth open and almost swallowed the women.
When the cetacean falls back into the water, the kayak lands upside down, and you can hear someone screaming in terror.
Moments later, other stand-up paddlers and kayakers came to their rescue, making sure they had not been bitten.
Viral images show that McSorley and Cottriel were practically at the mercy of the great whale, yet as explained to Fox, they were simply rolled over the sea and fortunately escaped unscathed despite the magnificent scare.
“I still have an adrenaline rush!” Said McSorley, while his partner expressed to that network: “I was in love with them and in awe, but I never expected there would be one right here, on my face!”
“I saw the big pool of fish, the big ball of bait come out of the water… I saw the whale approach. I thought, ‘Oh no! It is too close. Suddenly I was already in the water”McSorley added.
Cottriel said think of that second being dead and repeated it several times in his mind, Fox ends.
