Until September 21, the residents of Cali who have committed traffic violations and wish to avail themselves of the 50% discount to carry out the respective procedures will have the benefit of the law.
This was announced on Monday night by the Secretary of Mobility of Cali, William Vallejo. The decision was made as a result of the impossibility of attending the processes for traffic violations, whose terms had been resumed on September 1.
“The determination that the Ministry of Mobility has taken is to suspend the terms of the contravention process in order to guarantee due process to citizens, who can access the discounts they have by law, that is, that 50% that is mentioned in Article 136 of Law 769 of 2002, the Traffic Code, “the official explained.
Vallejo added that “our intention is to guarantee citizens that they can have an additional time to schedule the courses and cancel that 50% as stipulated by law in order to be entitled to this discount.”

According to the law, people have five working days, from the notification of the subpoena, to dispute the offense or take a course and, thus, pay only 50% of the fine.
The secretary explained that “that fifth business day that all those drivers who had manually notified crashes had and that began to run from September 1, would be completed on September 21.”
The official recalled that interested persons will be able to use all the service channels enabled, although he recommended making use of the appointment scheduling platform of the serviciosdetransito.com site, in which they can schedule appointments until December 31.
He explained that the important thing, to access the benefit, is to schedule the course before September 21 on the date that is available.
Vallejo recommended “that they do not wait until the last day and we use these days before the suspension of terms is lifted so that they can schedule their appointment with peace of mind.”
“Since August, people could have scheduled their courses with the Integrated Attention Centers, and many did not. Actually here it is also a task of the citizen to schedule their courses. The idea is that during these two weeks we have the option of being able to attend them within of the operational and technological capacities that the secretariat and its strategic allies have, “he said.
