Cúcuta Deportivo hit rock bottom. This Wednesday the Superintendency of Companies ordered the start of the judicial liquidation process of the team due to its failure to pay its creditors, in the reorganization agreement.

The club had already requested from Dimayor a couple of days ago an advance of 1,500 million pesos, destined for the payment of different debts that to date it has not met and that could make it lose the sports recognition. That is why at the hearing he asked for it to be postponed for a few days, but this was denied.

“There were complaints of non-compliance such as the Cúcuta Mayor’s Office and the Municipal Institute for Recreation and Sports with which there was no normalization, this office warns that there was no formalization with all the creditors, so it proceeds to decree the judicial liquidation, “said the office during the hearing.

The Superintendency will now designate a liquidator who will assume legal representation and must update the inventory of assets and liabilities of the company to advance the procedures for pending payments to creditors.

In a letter that the club previously sent to Dimayor, José Augusto Cadena, owner and president of Cúcuta, indicated how the money that the entity would advance would be distributed: 910’302.704 million for the Municipal Institute of Recreation and Sports of Cúcuta, 543’376.260 for the Municipality of Cúcuta, 2’070.791 for the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare and 340’000,000 for the DIAN.
