The people of Bogota have still not come out of their outrage with the murder of Oswaldo Muñoz, a worker who was stabbed inside a Transmilenio bus by a group of men who tried to steal his belongings.

This assassination revealed the problem of insecurity in the transportation system of Bogotá and, in general, the entire city. According to figures from the District during 2019 there were more than 22,000 robberies in the stations or buses of this transport system, representing an increase of almost 7,000 compared to the 2018 figures.

This constant anxiety makes the citizens of the capital want to know which are the Transmilenio stations where there are more thefts. According to the Statistical, Criminal Misconduct and Operational Information System of the Police and the Bogotá Security Secretariat, these stops of the mass transport system are where there is the greatest risk of suffering a robbery:

According to the data collected, 200 or more robberies were generated in the first 10 stations on the list. In the group of the first ten, seven correspond to the center and south of the country’s capital.

The case of The case of Oswaldo Muñoz

On October 29, the capital was shaken by the murder of Oswaldo Muñoz, at the TransMilenio station on Calle 85 in Bogotá.

Another attempted robbery

A mother said on October 30 that, along with her 13-year-old daughter, they were cornered inside an article by criminals who stabbed them several times. According to the woman’s account, she was stabbed in the chest and her daughter in the right hand. “We are miraculously alive, but before I died I wanted the thieves to be caught”, the woman told the middle.

The woman assured that the thieves could not take the belongings and could escape. Seeing that there were no authorities at the time of the robbery, he called for the Police to do more control inside the stations.
