The Ministry of Health reported 8,742 new coronavirus infections on Monday. These are the six areas where there are the highest number of people infected with coronavirus.

In addition to the infections, 142 deaths were registered, bringing the death toll to 39,195.

In its daily bulletin, the health authority noted that 1,434,516 people have already contracted the coronavirus.

Of the total number of cases, 69,833 still remain active, corresponding to 4.86%, while 1,321,469 patients have already overcome the disease, that is, 92%.

Regarding the infections of the day, the highest figure was in Bogotá, with 1,974 positive cases, followed by the departments of Antioquia (1,602), Valle del Cauca (735), Tolima (639), Atlántico (593), Cundinamarca (540 ), Santander (360), Bolívar (306), Risaralda (264), Meta (255), Quindío (209) and Norte de Santander (189).

With this, the highest accumulation of infections continues to be found in Bogotá (407,627), Antioquia (231,592), Valle del Cauca (120,087), Atlántico (83,099), Santander (58,667) and Cundinamarca (57,837).

Of the deaths of the day, of which 127 correspond to previous days, Bogotá had the highest number, with 25, followed by Antioquia (17); North of Santander and Valle del Cauca (15).

There were also deaths in Santander (9), Risaralda and Magdalena (7); Cundinamarca and Atlántico (6); Tolima and Bolívar (5); Boyacá, La Guajira and Quindío (3).

Other deaths occurred in Caldas, Cauca, Cesar, Huila, Nariño and Vichada (2); Arauca, Caquetá, Meta and Putumayo (1).

On this day, 53,354 samples were processed, 29,649 of them PCR and 23,705 antigens, for a total of 7.1 million tests carried out in the country.
