“In less than a month that cable had fallen three times.” With that warning, Sulia Sandoval De la Cruz says that several times she had alerted Electricaribe personnel about the tragedy that could be registered in the sector of Calle 74 C with Carrera 24 C, in the Carlos Meisel neighborhood.
Apparently, the alert was ignored and late Monday a transformer exploded. The episode caused a high voltage cable to fall on the body of Johanna Montañez De la Cruz, 27, at a time when she was walking through the aforementioned sector in the company of her family.
“My daughter was coming with her little girl and her husband when everything happened. The girl is saved because the husband took her and gave her to a neighbor; While he with a broomstick tried to remove the cables from Johanna, but the stick broke, he tried to remove them with his hands and in the same way it was impossible. Everything happened very quickly and she died in front of everyone’s gaze ”, says Sandoval De la Cruz.
The victim’s family said they felt “offended” by the company’s indifference.
Other relatives reported that the cable burned Johanna’s legs, abdomen, and face. “How could we take her to PASO La Manga, but there she arrived without life,” they said.
This medium contacted the Electricaribe company to find out its version of events, but until the closing of this edition they had not issued a statement.
