The first to make the announcement was journalist Ariel Ávila, who on his Twitter account said that Revista Semana had made the decision to cancel its program ‘El Poder’.

“By decisions @RevistaSemana, my program ‘El Poder’ was canceled, as well as my participation in the channel”the political scientist trilled, and left a message of appreciation for the company and his co-workers.

Minutes after this trill, Week was pronounced about it to say that “At the request of Ariel Ávila, the program #ElPoder, which ran until October 31, will not be broadcast starting” this Monday.

“Thanks to Ariel and his team for the excellent work,” added that medium.

Ávila, for his part, came up with this message and put another trill in which he argues that precisely this morning he was notified that his program would be canceled, and that “they gave him a deadline until October 31”.

After the announcement of the cancellation I did not find sense to continue in something canceled. Indeed, the program was ready, it was about La Minga, “said the columnist.

Ávila’s departure was the subject of analysis in the Caracol Radio program ‘La Luciérnaga’, where journalist Alejandra Villamizar stated that this Semana decision would be motivated “by measurements.”

“The click that does not forgive, and a program called ‘El Debate’ would also be canceled”Villamizar added, and said that “it is not known if it is a moment of crisis within the new bets, or a decision like the one in recent weeks,” where that medium made changes among its directors.

At the same time, the journalist Pascual Gaviria launched another hypothesis in ‘La Luciérnaga’ about the departure from the air of the Avila program, and said:

“It is clear that this program of El Poder, en Semana, had a very different editorial line from that of the magazine at the moment, and I also believe that the decision is made a bit there.”
