Today it is difficult to imagine what the characters of Guardians of the Galaxy with a completely different ‘look’. However, the creatives of Marvel analyzed multiple proposals until choosing one that best suited the successful cinematic universe. In the last few weeks they have been sharing the original designs of various superheroes, and today is the turn of Gamora, one of the heroines most loved by fans.

Andy Park, director of visual development at Marvel Studios, took advantage of the quarantine to post a picture of the Gamora’s first approved design. As you can see, his face has more details than the version we saw on the big screen. Of course, we are already used to his green face, but at first they contemplated adding some purple markings to give it an even more original look, even challenging. Unfortunately it does not show its clothing.

As Park himself explains, this was the design that Marvel approved for the first installment of Guardians of the Galaxy. However, James Gunn decided to change it later, since I preferred a simpler look and without so many details. It should be noted that the proposal was presented before Zoe Saldaña joined the cast, so the concept does not have the face of the American actress. How about? Surely many people would have preferred the first ‘look’.

Undoubtedly, Gamora became a key character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, mainly in Avengers: Infinity War. The heroine confronted her father, Thanos, who eventually sacrificed her in Vormir to obtain the Soul Stone. Despite the sadness of the moment, the character “reappeared” in Endgame when the Avengers travel to the past, so it’s a fact that we’ll see her in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

And speaking of the third Space Warriors movie, James Gunn recently acknowledged that the plot will focus on Rocket and his past, because there are still many doubts about the character that must be answered. Some rumors suggest that the creator of the raccoon will be the antagonist of the film; even Mark Hamill could be in charge of interpreting it. Unfortunately Marvel remains to reveal the release date.
