The Metropolitan Police of Bogotá and the Attorney General’s Office shared exclusive film details of the capture of alias Calvo, who shot Wilfrido Murcia Naranjo, 54, a security guard who was mobilizing on a SITP bus on the morning of December 15, 2020.

The alleged murderer was identified as Jackson Javier Castiblanco Durán. “We are going to charge him with the crime of aggravated homicide. We will request an intramural security measure,” said the attorney general of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa.

There is enough evidence against this person to accuse him of getting armed on the bus in which the victim was mobilizing, at 5:15 am After allegedly intimidating the passengers, he would have received resistance from Wilfrido Murcia and allegedly shot him three times.

The records of the security camera videos and the testimonies obtained show that the alleged murderer got out of the car and got on a motorcycle. In the flight he would have thrown a black diver and a pen, which became important elements to advance in the investigations.

During the morning, 10 CTI officials and uniforms from the Sijín of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police were located in the Villa Alsacia neighborhood, in western Bogotá.

There, they reconnoitred the places the alleged suspect frequented and took positions. At 2:34 pm, Castiblanco Durán was intercepted.

The capture procedure was fulfilled. In the first verifications it was found that on the face of the detainee were the traces of the struggle he had with Wilfrido Murcia, a new element that will be taken into account. The death of this man left four children, aged 17, 20, 27 and 29, mired in sadness.

Even the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, spoke out about the recent capture. “I am grateful to the Bogotá Police for the capture of the criminal who murdered Wilfrido Murcia in a SITP. We are not going to let violent theft grow and remain in impunity. We work tirelessly to take care of Bogotá.”
