For the second consecutive night, riots were recorded in the city of Bogotá with the burning of CAI Immediate Attention Centers, roadblocks, among others.
Follow here the minute by minute of what happens this Thursday in Cali
The day of protests originated after the death of Mr. Javier Ordóñez in a police procedure that occurred on Tuesday night, recorded on video and disseminated on social networks, which has unleashed great national outrage and harsh questions about the actions of the National Police.
The event triggered intense protests on Wednesday night in Bogotá, which left 10 people dead, multiple injuries and extensive damage to public and private infrastructure.
This Thursday, the protesters continued in the streets attacking the CAI Immediate Attention Center in the Villa Luz sector and with protests in the town of Fontibón.
The mayor Claudia López did not declare a curfew but recommended that the residents of the capital return home at 7:00 pm due to the effects on mobility that the new days of protest would unleash.
I ask the citizenry to come home early and be at your residence no later than 7pm.
Due to the vandalization of buses, the system will have less operation and there are 15 sit-ins called that can complicate mobility.
To ease tensions, let’s go home early🙏🏻 pic.twitter.com/z7ZnBqc4r8– Claudia López 👍 (@ClaudiaLopez) September 10, 2020
